Benghazi's Climate
Benghazi is a Mediterranean port on the coast of northeastern Libya, with a Mediterranean climate that leans semi-arid on the edge of the Sahara. Summers (June–September) are hot and dry, with daytime highs usually 29–34°C; sea breezes ease the heat, though the hot, dry gibli wind off the desert occasionally pushes temperatures much higher. Winters (December–February) are mild and damp, around 15–18°C by day, and most of the year's modest rainfall arrives then. Spring and autumn are warm, pleasant and brief.
