Cochabamba's Climate
Cochabamba sits in a valley in central Bolivia at around 2,500 m in the Andes, so although it lies in the southern-hemisphere tropics it has a mild highland subtropical climate, pleasant year-round with a wide day-to-night temperature swing. Being south of the equator, its rainy season falls in summer, from December to March, with afternoon showers and thunderstorms, while the winter from May to August stays dry, with warm daytime sun but chilly nights that sometimes near freezing. Daytime highs generally hold at 22–27°C, at their warmest just before the rains in October and November.
