Douala's Climate

Douala is Cameroon's largest port city, set on the Wouri estuary beside the Gulf of Guinea and only about four degrees north of the equator, giving it a hot, humid tropical monsoon climate year-round with steady temperatures, typically 24–31°C. It is one of the wettest cities in Africa: a long rainy season runs from April to October, peaking in July–September with intense showers and thunderstorms, partly as the southwest monsoon meets the nearby Cameroon mountains. The shorter drier season from November to March remains muggy and often cloudy. Humidity stays very high almost all year.
