Irbid's Climate
Irbid lies on the highlands of northern Jordan near the Syrian border, on a plateau at around 600 metres, giving it a Mediterranean climate of hot dry summers and cool wet winters. Summers (June–September) are hot, dry and intensely sunny, usually 30–35°C by day, though the elevation keeps nights milder and humidity low. Winters (December–February) are cool and damp, around 10–15°C by day, with rain and occasional snow on the surrounding heights during cold spells. Spring and autumn are short, mild transition seasons and the most comfortable time of year.
