Kumasi's Climate
Kumasi lies deep inland in the Ashanti Region of south-central Ghana, within the country's moist tropical forest belt. It has a tropical monsoon climate that stays hot and humid all year, with daytime highs usually of 28–33°C and little seasonal variation. There are two rainy seasons: the main one from March to July and a lighter second one from September to November, both bringing heavy showers and thunderstorms. Between them sits a short dry spell in July–August and a more marked dry season from December to February, when the dry, dusty harmattan wind blows off the Sahara and hazes the sky.
