Marseille's Climate
Marseille is a major port city in the Provence region of southeastern France, set on the Mediterranean coast at about 43°N. It has a classic Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild, wetter winters. Summers (June–September) are sunny and dry, with daytime highs of 28–32°C and clear blue skies. Winters (December–February) stay gentle at 6–13°C, with scattered showers but rarely any frost. Its signature feature is the mistral, a cold, dry wind that blows strongly from the north down the Rhône valley, clearing the skies while bringing a sharp chill.
