Oran's Climate
Oran is Algeria's second-largest port city, set on the Mediterranean coast in the country's northwest, with a semi-arid Mediterranean climate (Köppen BSk/Csa). Summers (June–September) are hot and dry with near-constant sunshine, daytime highs typically 28–33°C, occasionally pushed higher by the hot sirocco wind blowing off the Sahara. Winters (December–February) are mild and wetter, around 15–18°C by day, and account for most of the year's modest rainfall. Spring and autumn are short and pleasant, with sea breezes taking the edge off the heat.
