Turin's Climate
Turin lies in the Piedmont region of north-western Italy, spread across the Po plain and backed by the towering Alps to the west. The city has a humid subtropical climate with four distinct seasons. Summers (June–August) are hot and muggy, typically 28–33°C with afternoon thunderstorms, while winters (December–February) are cold and foggy, occasionally snowy, with nighttime temperatures dipping below 0°C. Spring and autumn are mild but damp, bringing spells of prolonged rain. Sheltered within its valley, Turin often traps stagnant air, producing thick winter fog and poor air quality.
