Conakry's Climate
Conakry is the capital of Guinea, set on the Atlantic coast of West Africa near the equator, so it stays hot and humid year-round under a tropical monsoon climate. Temperatures are fairly steady, with daytime highs usually 28–32°C and little seasonal change. What stands out is the sharp contrast between the dry season (November–April), which is drier and sometimes touched by the dust-laden harmattan wind from the Sahara, and the wet season (May–October), which brings enormous rainfall, especially the torrential downpours of July and August. High humidity almost all year makes it feel sticky.
