Maputo's Climate
Maputo is the coastal capital of Mozambique, set on Maputo Bay looking out over the Indian Ocean in southeastern Africa, with a sea-tempered tropical savanna climate. Being in the southern hemisphere, the hot, humid wet season stretches from about November to March, when daytime highs reach 29–33°C alongside showers, thunderstorms and the occasional tropical cyclone; the cool dry season from May to September is far more comfortable, with days around 24–26°C and cooler nights. Sea breezes ease the mugginess, though humidity is generally high.
