San Diego's Climate
San Diego sits in the far southwestern corner of California, on the Pacific coast beside the Mexican border, with a semi-arid Mediterranean climate kept mild year-round by the ocean. Summers (June–September) are dry and sunny, with daytime highs typically 24–28°C and rarely oppressive thanks to the sea breeze, while winters (December–March) are cooler and damper, around 16–19°C by day and holding most of the region's modest annual rainfall. Coastal morning fog is common, with the famous "May Gray" and "June Gloom" overcast in early summer, while hot, dry Santa Ana winds can arrive in late autumn.
