Abidjan's Climate
Abidjan is the largest city in Côte d'Ivoire, sitting right on the Gulf of Guinea on the Atlantic coast in the near-equatorial tropics, so it stays hot and humid all year with little temperature variation, usually 26–32°C. Being close to the equator, it has no cold season and is divided instead by rainfall: the main rainy season (May–July) is the wettest, with heavy downpours, thunderstorms and very high humidity, followed by a short dry spell, then a lesser rainy season (October–November). The main dry season (December–February) is a touch calmer, occasionally touched by the dusty, dry Harmattan wind off the Sahara. Skies are cloudy and muggy for much of the year.
