Baoji's Climate
Baoji sits in western Shaanxi province in central China, stretched along the Wei River valley at the foot of the Qinling Mountains, giving it a humid, monsoon-influenced continental climate with four differentiated seasons. Summers (June–August) are hot and humid, when showers and thunderstorms are most concentrated and temperatures typically run 26–33°C, while winters (December–February) are cold and dry as the continental monsoon pushes readings toward freezing, occasionally with light snow. Spring and autumn are short and transitional, with autumn (September–October) the driest and most comfortable stretch. The surrounding mountains make the terrain rugged and cause weather to shift with elevation.
