Bayan Nur's Climate
Bayan Nur lies in Inner Mongolia in northern China, on an arid plain beside the Yellow River and the desert, giving it a semi-desert continental climate with a wide temperature range. Summers (June–August) are hot and dry, with daytime highs of 28–34°C but rapidly cooling nights and scant rainfall concentrated in the peak of summer; winters (November–March) are bitterly cold and dry, routinely below -10°C and sometimes far colder. Spring brings strong winds and dust storms blowing off the desert, while autumn is short, dry and clear.
