Changde's Climate
Changde lies in northwestern Hunan province in south-central China, on the Yuan River near Dongting Lake, an inland low-lying city with a humid subtropical monsoon climate. Summers (June–September) are hot and very humid, usually 32–37°C, with heavy showers and frequent thunderstorms, while winters (December–February) are cold and damp, with chilly days around 2–6°C and long stretches of cloud, fog and drizzle. In between, spring is wet and rainy, while autumn turns mild, dry, clear and the most comfortable time of the year.
