Changshu's Climate
Changshu lies in Jiangsu province in eastern China, on the low-lying Yangtze River delta near Shanghai, and has a humid subtropical climate with four clear seasons. Summer (June–August) is hot, humid and muggy, with daytime highs usually 32–36°C, the early-summer plum rains and thunderstorms, and the occasional typhoon off the East China Sea in late summer and early autumn. Winter (December–February) is cold and damp, with days around 5–9°C and occasional cold snaps near freezing with light snow. Spring and autumn are cool and pleasant, and autumn (October–November) in particular is dry and the loveliest time of year.
