Changzhi's Climate
Changzhi sits on a plateau in south-eastern Shanxi province, deep inland in northern China and at fairly high elevation, giving it a monsoon-influenced continental climate with four distinct seasons and a wide temperature range. Summers (June–August) are warm and humid, usually 26–30°C by day, with showers and thunderstorms concentrated by the East Asian monsoon; winters (December–February) are cold and dry, around 0–5°C by day, below freezing at night and with occasional snowfall; spring and autumn are short, dry and cool, with autumn (September–October) the clearest and most pleasant. The altitude keeps summer heat mild.
