Chaozhou's Climate
Chaozhou lies in northeastern Guangdong province in southern China, near the South China Sea coast on the lower Han River, giving it a monsoon-influenced humid subtropical climate. Summers (May–September) are hot, humid and wet, typically 30–34°C with showers, thunderstorms and the risk of typhoons off the sea in late summer and early autumn; winters (December–February) are mild and fairly dry, usually 12–18°C, rarely turning truly cold. Spring is damp and often foggy, while autumn (October–November) is dry, cool and the most pleasant time of year.
