Cixi's Climate
Cixi sits on Hangzhou Bay in northern Zhejiang province in eastern China, a low-lying coastal delta city with a humid subtropical monsoon climate. Summers (June–September) are hot and humid, typically 30–36°C, with abundant thunderstorms and a real chance of typhoons rolling in off the East China Sea, while winters (December–February) are cool and damp, with the coldest days around 3–7°C and snow rare. In between, spring is cloudy and drizzly and ends with the late-spring meiyu plum rains, while autumn turns dry, mild and the clearest, most settled time of the year.
