Daqing's Climate
Daqing sits on the Songnen Plain in Heilongjiang province in China's far northeast, deep inland and therefore subject to a monsoon-influenced humid continental climate with an extreme temperature range. Winters (November–March) are bitterly cold, dry and long, typically -15 to -25°C with cold snaps below -30°C, biting northerly winds and snow. Summers (June–August) are markedly warmer and more humid, usually 25–30°C, with rainfall concentrated in monsoon-driven afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Spring and autumn are short, dry and windy, with the seasons turning quickly.
