Dongguan's Climate
Dongguan lies in the Pearl River delta of Guangdong province in southeastern China, between Guangzhou and Shenzhen and not far from the coast. It has a humid subtropical monsoon climate (Koppen Cfa/Cwa), hot and humid for much of the year. The long summer (April–September) is hot and sticky with very high humidity, frequent showers and thunderstorms, and it doubles as typhoon season, with storms possible from June to September, while the short winter (December–February) is mild and drier, usually 12–18°C and rarely truly cold. Spring is damp and foggy, and late autumn is the coolest and most comfortable spell.
