Fuzhou's Climate
Fuzhou is the capital of Fujian province on southeastern China's coast, set along the lower Min River and ringed by hills that trap its famously muggy summer heat. It has a humid subtropical climate, with summers (June–September) that are hot, humid and rainy, often 33–37°C and exposed to typhoons and tropical storms sweeping in from the sea. Spring and early summer are the wettest, drizzly stretch of the year. Winters (December–February) are short, mild and slightly damp, with daytime highs of 12–17°C and rarely truly cold. Autumn in October–November is the driest, coolest and most pleasant season.
