Fuzhou's Climate
Fuzhou is an inland city in eastern Jiangxi province, south-central China, set among hills and river basins, with a humid subtropical climate driven by the East Asian monsoon. Summers (June–August) are hot, humid and muggy, usually 30–35°C, preceded by the meiyu plum rains of April–June and punctuated by afternoon convective thunderstorms. Winters (December–February) are cool, damp and cloudy, with daytime highs of 8–14°C and only rare frost. Spring is wet with persistent drizzle, while autumn (September–November) is dry, cool and the most comfortable season. The fringes of summer typhoons occasionally push heavy rain into the region.
