Guigang's Climate
Guigang lies in southeastern Guangxi in southern China, in the Xun River basin amid karst hills and just north of the Tropic of Cancer, giving it a humid subtropical monsoon climate that is hot and humid for much of the year. Summers (May–September) are long, muggy and wet, usually 32–36°C, with thunderstorms, heavy downpours and the occasional typhoon drifting in from the Gulf of Tonkin. Winters (December–February) are short and mild, with daytime highs of 12–18°C, broken now and then by cold surges from the north. Spring brings frequent drizzle and mist, while autumn is the driest, most comfortable season.
