Guiyang's Climate
Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province, sits on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau in southwestern China at around 1,100 m, an elevation that softens its humid subtropical climate into something cool and mild year-round. Summers (June–August) are pleasantly cool and rainy, with daytime highs of only 25–30°C, earning the city a reputation as a summer heat-escape. Winters (December–February) are damp, overcast and chilly, with daytime highs of 4–9°C and rare snow. Skies stay cloudy through much of the year, with high humidity and frequent drizzle. Spring and autumn are comfortable and green.
