Hanzhong's Climate
Hanzhong lies in the Han River valley of southern Shaanxi province, China, sheltered by the Qinling Mountains to the north and the Daba range to the south, giving it a mild humid subtropical climate. Summers (June–August) are hot and humid, around 28–33°C by day, with heavy rain, thunderstorms and occasional local flooding. Winters (December–February) are cool but not harsh, typically 2–8°C, with little snow, frequent fog and overcast skies. Spring warms gradually with drizzle, while autumn is cool, dry and the most pleasant time of year. Sheltered by mountains, its climate is milder than much of northern China.
