Hengyang's Climate
Hengyang lies in south-central Hunan, China, in the inland Xiang River basin, and has a humid subtropical climate (Köppen Cfa) with four clear seasons. Summers (June–August) are hot and muggy, usually 33–37°C with high humidity, making it one of Hunan's hottest cities; rainfall peaks in late spring and early summer during the plum-rain season. Winters (December–February) are chilly and damp, typically 3–8°C, with occasional cold spells bringing drizzle or frost. Spring is often grey and drizzly, while autumn (September–November) is cool, dry and the most comfortable time.
