Huainan's Climate
Huainan lies in Anhui province in eastern China, on the Huai River inland and close to the country's north–south climate divide, giving it a monsoon-influenced humid subtropical climate with four distinct seasons. Summer (June–August) is hot and humid, with daytime highs usually 31–35°C, and it is the main wet season, bringing the early-summer plum rains along with frequent showers and thunderstorms. Winter (December–February) is colder and drier, with days around 4–9°C and nights that can fall below freezing with frost and occasional light snow. Spring and autumn are cool transitions, and autumn (October–November) is especially dry, clear and the most pleasant.
