Jiangyin's Climate
Jiangyin sits in Jiangsu province in eastern China, on the south bank of the lower Yangtze near the river delta, giving it a humid subtropical climate with four distinct seasons. Summers (June–August) are hot, humid and muggy, typically 30–35°C with showers and thunderstorms; early summer brings the drawn-out plum-rain (meiyu) drizzle, while late summer and early autumn can feel the edge of typhoons off the East China Sea. Winters (December–February) turn chilly and damp, usually 2–8°C, with rare light snow. Spring and autumn are mild and pleasant, the loveliest times to visit.
