Jilin's Climate
Jilin sits in northeastern China on the Songhua River, an inland city at a high latitude with a humid continental climate and severe winters. Winters (November–March) are very cold and dry, routinely below -15°C and dropping toward -25°C, with heavy snowfall; the city is famous for its beautiful riverside 'rime ice' trees. Summers (June–August) are warm and humid, around 22–28°C, and most of the year's rain falls in this stretch as showers. Spring and autumn are short transitional seasons, with autumn dry and pleasant.
