Jining's Climate
Jining lies in southwestern Shandong province in eastern China, on the North China Plain near the Grand Canal, with a monsoon-influenced humid continental climate and four distinct seasons. Summers (June–August) are hot and muggy, usually 30–35°C, with high humidity and showers and thunderstorms concentrated at the monsoon peak, while winters (December–February) are cold and dry, with many days from -5 to 3°C, little snow and clear but parched skies. Spring and autumn are short, dry and pleasant, with autumn usually the finest; spring can bring dust-laden winds from the north.
