Jinzhong's Climate
Jinzhong lies in central Shanxi Province, on the Loess Plateau of northern China near the provincial capital Taiyuan and at an elevation of about 780 m. Its deep inland, upland position gives it a temperate continental monsoon climate with four distinct seasons and a wide temperature range. Summers (June–August) are warm and fairly humid, with daytime highs usually 26–32°C and showers and thunderstorms concentrated by the monsoon. Winters (December–February) are cold, dry and sunny, with daytime highs around -2 to 4°C. Spring is dry, windy and dusty, while autumn is cool, dry and pleasant.
