Kaifeng's Climate
Kaifeng lies in eastern Henan province on the North China Plain in central China, near the Yellow River, an inland lowland city with a humid subtropical monsoon climate and four distinct seasons. Summers (June–August) are hot and humid, usually 30–36°C, and carry most of the year's rain in heavy thunderstorms, while winters (December–February) are cold and dry, with chilly days around −3 to 3°C, little rain and the occasional light snow. In between, spring is dry and warming with the odd dust-laden wind, while autumn turns mild, dry, clear and the most pleasant time of the year.
