Liupanshui's Climate
Liupanshui sits on the Guizhou plateau in southwestern China at around 1,800–1,900 m, so despite a humid subtropical setting its summers stay remarkably cool, earning it the nickname "cool city." Summers (June–August) are mild and wet, with monsoon-driven showers and thunderstorms and daytime highs often just 20–26°C. Winters (December–February) are chilly, cloudy and damp, around 3–10°C, with occasional frost or cold rain. Spring and autumn are cool and pleasant, and the region stays cloudy year-round with limited sunshine and fairly high humidity.
