Longyan's Climate
Longyan sits in southwestern Fujian Province in southeastern China, in a hilly inland region of valleys and streams, with a humid subtropical climate (Köppen Cfa). Summers (May–September) are hot, humid and wet, typically 28–34°C with thunderstorms, showers and the reach of typhoons off the sea. The plum-rain spell of May–June brings especially heavy rainfall. Winters (December–February) are cool and mild thanks to the elevation, usually 6–14°C and rarely bitter. Spring is damp and foggy, while autumn is dry and the most comfortable season of the year.
