Luoyang's Climate
Luoyang sits in western Henan province, in the Central Plains of the Yellow River basin, well inland in central China, with a monsoon-influenced humid continental climate and four clearly separated seasons. Summers (June–August) are hot and humid, with daytime highs typically 31–35°C and most of the year's rain falling as thunderstorms, while winters (December–February) are cold and dry, around 3–8°C by day and often below 0°C at night. Spring warms gradually but can be windy and dusty, and autumn (September–October) is cool, dry and clear, widely regarded as the finest time of year.
