Maoming's Climate
Maoming lies on the coast of southwestern Guangdong in southern China, near the South China Sea and just below the Tropic of Cancer, giving it a hot and humid tropical-monsoon climate. The long summer (April–September) is hot and very humid, with daytime highs often 30–34°C, frequent showers and thunderstorms, and a real risk of typhoons and tropical depressions from July to September. Winters (December–February) are short, warm and drier, with comfortable temperatures around 14–20°C and cold spells rare. The rainy season concentrates from April through September.
