Nanchang's Climate
Nanchang is the capital of Jiangxi province in southeastern China, an inland city on the Gan River not far from Poyang Lake. It has a humid subtropical climate with four clear seasons and a reputation as one of China's most sweltering cities in summer. Summers (June–September) are very hot and humid, usually 33–38°C, shaped by the early-summer plum rains and the occasional decaying typhoon, while winters (December–February) are cool and damp, around 4–10°C, with the odd cold snap and grey drizzle. Spring is rainy, while autumn is dry, comfortable and the loveliest time of year.
