Ordos's Climate
Ordos sits on an arid plateau in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of northern China, far inland at around 1,300 m elevation, giving it a semi-arid continental climate with a wide temperature swing. Summers (June–August) are warm and dry, usually 25–32°C by day but cooling quickly at night, while winters (November–March) are long and bitterly cold, often below 0°C and dropping to -15°C or lower. Rainfall is low and concentrated in summer, while spring frequently brings strong winds and dust storms blowing off nearby deserts.
