Qingyuan's Climate
Qingyuan sits in the hilly interior of northern Guangdong Province, China, on the Bei (North) River not far from the coast, and has a humid subtropical climate shaped by the East Asian monsoon. Summers (May–September) are hot, muggy and very wet, usually 30–35°C with heavy showers, thunderstorms and monsoon surges, and the occasional decaying typhoon from the South China Sea. Winters (December–February) are milder and drier, typically 8–15°C, and only rarely turn truly cold. Spring is foggy and damp, while autumn (October–November) is dry and the most comfortable stretch.
