Saitama's Climate
Saitama sits just north of Tokyo on the Kanto plain of Honshu, Japan, a short way inland from the coast, and has a humid subtropical climate (Cfa) with four clear seasons. Summers (June–September) are hot and sticky, often 30–35°C, opening with the tsuyu rainy season in June and July and followed by a late-summer typhoon risk. Winters (December–February) are cold, dry and sunny, with night lows near 0–3°C and only occasional light snow. Spring warms up around the cherry blossoms, while autumn (October–November) is cool, dry and the most comfortable time of year.
