Yokohama's Climate
Yokohama is a port city on Tokyo Bay on Japan's Honshu island, with a humid subtropical climate moderated by the sea, giving four clear but milder seasons than inland. Summers (June–September) are hot and humid, often 28–33°C, opening with the June tsuyu rainy season before the sticky peak of July and August; late summer and early autumn bring the risk of typhoons. Winters (December–February) are mild, dry and sunny, with daytime highs of 8–12°C and snow a rare event. Spring cherry blossoms and autumn foliage are the loveliest, most comfortable times to visit.
