Shangrao's Climate
Shangrao lies in northeastern Jiangxi province in southeastern China, among hills and rivers of the Poyang Lake basin, with a monsoon-influenced humid subtropical climate. Its four seasons are fairly distinct: summers (June–August) are hot and humid, usually 32–37°C, muggy and prone to showers and thunderstorms; spring brings prolonged plum rains; winters (December–February) are cool and damp with cold spells dipping to 3–7°C and occasional frost. Rainfall is abundant, concentrated in spring and early summer and sometimes causing flooding. Autumn (September–November) is the driest and most comfortable time.
