Shaoxing's Climate
Shaoxing lies in Zhejiang province, on the southern edge of the Yangtze delta near Hangzhou Bay in eastern China, with a humid subtropical monsoon climate and four fairly distinct seasons. Summers (June–September) are hot and humid, usually 32–37°C, muggy with frequent showers, thunderstorms and a late-summer typhoon risk, while the Meiyu (plum rains) around June bring long spells of damp drizzle. Winters (December–February) are cool and damp, typically 3–9°C, with snow rare. Spring and autumn are mild, pleasant and drier, making them the easiest seasons for visitors.
