Shijiazhuang's Climate
Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei province, lies on the North China Plain south-west of Beijing and has a monsoon-influenced humid continental climate (Köppen Dwa) with four distinct seasons. Summers (June–August) are hot and humid, with daytime highs usually 30–36°C and showers and thunderstorms concentrated in July and August, while winters (December–February) turn cold and dry, with many days below freezing as cold air spills down from Siberia. Spring is often dry and dusty with occasional dust storms, and autumn (September–October) is cool, clear and the finest time of year. Air quality tends to worsen in winter.
