Suqian's Climate
Suqian lies in northern Jiangsu province in eastern China, on a low-lying plain near Lake Hongze, giving it a climate that transitions between humid subtropical monsoon and humid temperate, with four clear seasons. Summers (June–August) are hot, humid and rainy, marked by the early-summer meiyu plum rains and thunderstorms, with temperatures typically 28–34°C, while winters (December–February) are cold and dry as the northeasterly monsoon can push readings below 0°C. Spring warms gradually with drizzle, and autumn (September–November) is dry, cool and the most pleasant stretch of the year.
