Suzhou's Climate
Suzhou sits in the north of Anhui province in eastern China, on an inland plain, giving it a humid subtropical climate governed by the East Asian monsoon with four distinct seasons. Summers (June–August) are hot and humid, usually 28–35°C, with frequent showers and thunderstorms, especially during the early-summer plum rains, while winters (December–February) are cold and dry, with days around 3–8°C and nights that can drop below freezing, bringing occasional frost or light snow. Spring and autumn are short, cool and comfortable, and the pleasantest times of year.
