Sydney's Climate
Sydney enjoys a sunny humid subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers (December–February in the Southern Hemisphere) typically running 25–30°C and occasionally spiking past 40°C during dry inland heatwaves. Winters (June–August) are mild, with daytime highs around 17°C and nights rarely below 8°C, and no snow ever falls in the city. Rain is spread through the year but peaks in late summer and autumn (February–June), sometimes bringing heavy coastal downpours and thunderstorms.
