Wanzhou's Climate

Wanzhou lies on the banks of the Yangtze River in the northeastern part of Chongqing municipality, in the hilly country on the rim of the Sichuan Basin in southwestern China, and has a humid subtropical climate shaped by the monsoon. Summers (June–August) are very hot and muggy, among the warmest along the Yangtze, with highs of 32–38°C, high humidity, and frequent showers and thunderstorms. Winters (December–February) are cool and damp, seldom colder than 5°C but often cloudy, foggy and short on sunshine. Spring and autumn are mild and pleasant, and rain concentrates in summer.
