Winnipeg's Climate
Winnipeg sits at the centre of Manitoba in central Canada, on the vast prairie plains, deep inland and far from any ocean. It has a humid continental climate with an extreme temperature range between the seasons. Summers (June–August) are warm and sometimes hot, usually 22–28°C with thunderstorms, while winters (December–February) are bitterly cold, often falling to -20°C to -30°C with heavy snow and biting winds that make it one of the coldest major cities on Earth. Spring and autumn are short, fast-moving transitional seasons. The city is sunny year-round but often windy.
